In essence…
Music isn't just about feeling it, but about the depth with which you can play it and communicate through it. In Tulum's vibrant music scene, we often see music jams where everyone connects, but few truly express themselves.
This masterclass is for all levels, From curious beginners to experienced professionals. You don't need to know music theory; We will connect with the universal language of music in a more natural way..
While we leave dogmas behind, Intermediate and advanced musicians will find powerful tools to deepen their art. The main invitation is to change your approach: from simply feeling the flow of your own music to letting yourself be carried by it, becoming a receptive vessel for the music to flow through you.
What we will experience (The journey)
1. The Pulse: Tuning in to Rhythm and Time
Music begins in the body.
- You will experience the magic of different time signatures, feeling the stability of even beats and the floating mystery of odd beats, to unlock a deeper rhythm in your playing.
- We will do a Body Percussion Circle, rooting ourselves in the beat of the music.
2. Resonance: the power of repetition and tuning
Before we can harmonize, we must unify.
- We will take advantage of the "native power" that we all possess: the ability to imitate and combine sound.
- Through collective humming and vocalization exercises, we will practice the art of Microtuning, adjusting our internal tone to blend perfectly with the source, essential for any musician or singer.
3. The Scan: connecting the voice with harmony
Closing the gap between what you hear and what you touch.
- Learn to "Scan Harmony": A technique for vocalizing and feeling each individual note within a harmony.
- By finding comfort in each note of a chord with your voice, you naturally expand your expression on your instrument, making your performance feel more integrated and "expressed".
4. The Matrix: the place where harmony happens.
Scales as creative horizons where structure meets freedom.
- We will demystify scales, seeing them not as rigid rules, but as harmony within a "Matrix" for music to be produced.
- We will play drone chords while singing patterns and scales over them.
- You will feel how the different scales create distinct emotional landscapes, expanding your creative mind to reach new horizons.
5. Surrendering to Silence: The Art of Listening
The music teacher knows when to stop playing.
- We will discuss the vital importance of Space and Silence.
- Learn to let yourself be carried away by the collective flow, allowing the silence to highlight the other instruments and creating music that breathes without "suffocating".
